I have a yacht with a B&B GPS Plus system on board. It all turns on and seems to work find but it is slightly out in its positions which renders it rather hopeless.

I have the DATUM set to WGS84 but the North is out by 000.00.03 and the West by 000.00.02

Any ideas?

There is a manual user calibration that could possibly be used to force it to offset by the error but that seems a bit of a fudge to me?

I've e-mailed B&G but wondered if anyone else had come across a similar dilemma? I'll post any solution B&G give here for reference.

Most GPS have the facility to display the position in two formats..... Select the wrong one and then your paper chart position will appear to be out of position compared to your plotter position! Looks like you may need to go to setup in the GPS and change something.

Definately WSG84 and I know the handheld one is correct as the numbers have me in the right place in the marina, the other has me sat on the land about a mile away...

Most frustrating.

B&G replied saying ensure in WSG84 and to reset all saved data... I await my reply asking how you reset it as I can't find a factory reset option in the manual.

The unit does have a manual datum where I could enter the error and correct for it but this is a bit of a fudge and there is no guarantee that the error remains the same when I move to a different location.
