Hi all, does anyone know the make and model of fridge is used on a 2001 Azimut 42? Its the large one in the galley with the freezer compartment at the bottom. Mine seems to have stopped working although the interior lights still comes on so its getting power. I can't find a makers plate on the front and could do with finding some instructions on how to remove it because its not obvious! There don't seem to be any covers to remove and reveal any fixings like on some marine fridges! I have searched the net but can't find an answer so any help on make, model and how to remove would be most appreciated, cheers Simon

Thanks for the info John, it maybe that this is the latest version but its not the same as ours! We have the freezer compartment at the bottom so maybe an old model? Ours is an original fit so getting on now but I still need to try and find out how to remove it?

Mine is a Coolmatic, I couldn't find a name or model on the outside anywhere, but there is a plate fixed inside the fridge compartment with the model number on etc... maybe on yours too?
As to fixing, mine is held back by a wooden trim at the bottom and screw fixed at the top using discreet and covered screws through the front edge of a shelf over. I haven't had to take mine out but I'm pretty sure it's just about 6 or so screws and 10mins to do so.

Thanks Phil, I am going down shortly to investigate the problem and shall use you advice as a start for removing. Will report back later, cheers Simon

I think Coolmatic is part of the Dometic group. I have the same as Dometic John on my 39. Before you junk the fridge, you might try replacing the thermostat? You might still need to move the fridge to get at it though.

Just wanted to update and thank everyone for the advice and help. Managed to find the fixings holding in the fridge, it was basically held in place by two screws each side that had been drilled though from the left and right side cupboards, difficult to find and also line up on refit but got there. I had checked the thermostat before removal and this was fine so needed to access the back. Also had to remove the cosmetic door that fronts the fridge and once the fridge was released also the cover door hinges to allow the fridge clearance to come forward and out. Once done I checked the voltages at the control box and found that the thermostat was only getting 3 volts! Fortunately Peachments in Brundall happened to have an old stock control box on the shelf and once trial fitted all sprung to life so fridge fixed and happy wife. Bit of fun getting fixings lined up but it has now all gone back together OK. Removal showed the data sticker on the back so I now know we have a Coolmatic HDC-235 and the control box if anyone needs to know is a Danfoss 101N0200, maybe helpful to someone in the future?
Thanks again to everyone for your input, very much appreciated and really helped. Cheers S.

Thanks guys, not only has it cost about £130 against a new one for for something up to £1.5k but my wife has a bad back and wanted to keep the freezer at the bottom as it’s used less and all the newer ones seem to have the freezer compartment at the top, so all round a really happy result. Thanks again for all the help, the forum comes to the rescue again, cheers.
