I have an Azi 39. I can't remember the spec of the bowthruster, but it is a Vetus, and I think 75 kgf. Mine works very well. The position is under the foot of the master cabin bed. There is a hatch in the floor, and the thruster is accessible for servicing.

Many thanks Rafiki. I also choose a Vetus 75 Kgf.

However I think the AZ 39 is a little diferente of my AZ 37.9.

In a first moment I think the same position like yours - under the foot of the master cabin bed with good acess behind an hatch in the floor but our forum "mate" Adey (also Az 37.9 onwer) give me another position, under the bed, more to forward. The acess is not easy (we have to cut an hole in bed floor) but we gain in efficiency.

Im waiting for some photos from Adey to decide what to do.

If you have any advice concerning joysticks, batterys or others, please, let me know.

Thanks again,

Best Regards
JS

Hi JS,

Te thruster works extremely well on our 39, no problems with efficiency etc. The battery is in the Lazerette on the starboard side, along with the domestic service batteries. The engine batteries are on the port side. This means of course that you need a very heavy duty cable running from the stern to the bowthruster. We have the standard Vetus controller on the main helm and a repeater on the Flybridge. This is really intuitive and easy to use. On my boat I am pretty sure the installation was fitted at the Azi factory. If you make the thruster too difficult to access, you may run the danger of not maintaining it correctly.
Good luck, and don't be afraid to post some pictures on here.

Hi Rafiki,

I willl put some photos before and after works.

Vetus workers told me to use 95mm2 battery cables - 10 metres between bow thruster location and motors or service batterys.

best regards and thanks again
