I have an Axiom 12+ and 7+ networked and added a Gadinan camera which works well via a Teltonika ethernet switch.

I see that the latest Axion software (August 2025) has a change listed as 'Changes made to RTSP stream username/password'.

LightHouse 4 Software Updates for Axiom Chartplotter Displays | Raymarine

I am reluctant to just update in case this is some way of preventing third party cameras operating, or does anyone know the specifics of this update which implies changes to how the Axion interfaces to IP cameras?

Thanks.

That's interesting to know. The main compatibility issue with 3rd party cameras was because Axiom required anonymous RTSP connections that aren't supported now o many cameras. If Raymarine are switching to a standard authentication protocol, this might open up the possibility to use lots more cameras.

I had real difficulty getting a camera that worked and the Gadinan from china seemed the best option. I did also get a camera from S3VC and that worked fine but the web page could not load for some strange reason via the plotter.
I am not sure I am brave enough to try out the update with other cameras just yet though... or to see if it excludes the gadinan camera!

I have the Gardinan camera and just done the latest Axiom s/w upgrade to 4.9.360 and has not effected my ip camera.

Just about to do the upgrade and I see Raymarine now has new Axion software 4.10.140 which has as one of the updates..
"Ability to select a secondary video channel when connected to a camera that has more than 1 payload"
This may help with cameras where the primary video stream has too high a resolution. It probably all depends if it is restricted to the expensive Raymarine cameras.
