Has anyone replaced Redcrest Valves. One sheared and half the dinghy went down (no surprise there!). Thought I would take the one out the seat and swop them. No chance. How do I get the old one out? Do I have to cut the fabric and reglue a new valve & circle of fabric? Tried to squeeze, pull push: Nothing. Help.

The new type valves are available as replacements and also the adhesive for them. Give Avon a ring and they should be able to let you know a stockist. Adhesive is on ebay not sure about the valves.

The ones on mine come out . I have changed the rubber seals on them although I note that it looks like the valves I have (marked A7 AFAIR) arent the original.

I cant remember details right here and now. All I can remember is there is a threaded brass insert in the middle of the rubber sealing disc which means you can buy a repair kit, undo the nut holding the valve in and fiddle the whole lot around to the point where you can replace the rubber disc. THe hazard is dropping bits inside the tube...
