I have inherited one of these with a new boat. It may be around 10 years old and is well out of service. However it is exceedingly small and light which makes it attractive, and I would be glad if anybody could tell me if they are serviceable and at what cost, and at what interval. Google indicates they have to be service annually rather than the normal 3 yearly and are expensive.
Any thoughts welcome!

In answer to my own query I have had some useful advice from Universal Safety. They cannot be serviced in the UK any longer as a special press is needed to compress it again. The last machine left the country 6 years ago.
It is therefore costing me £20 to get it recycled!

I also have an Avon Modula Lite. Mine is a 6 man valise which was new in 2010.
Earlier this year I tried to get it serviced and eventually was directed by Avon to Southwest Liferafts who can still do them.

In my case I was put off by the quote (£500 - £550) and the uncertainty about the following service. I therefore decided instead to buy a new (non-Avon) raft.
As far as I am aware, the service interval was still 3 years.

Thanks very much Geoid. Funnily enough we are heading down to Falmouth in July and are getting a berth there. My brother lives close to Helston. I have decided to keep the Seago one as it is still in date and will see us through this year and next.
