Hi all, I am looking to take part in the ARC this year, as a keen sailor this would be a great experience, and I guess a 'bucket list' item for myself. I will be available in Las Palma from the middle of November, and am happy to take part or any type/size of boat.
So about myself? I have a past in engineering, and am this summer working as a flotilla engineer in Greece, combining my skills with my like for sailing.
What can I bring to the boat? Although relatively new to sailing, and have no ocean experience, I am confident, and a very quick learner. Although i can easily skipper a yacht here in Greece, I understand this is a whole different kettle of fish. I am hands on, and of course have lots of experience of fixing boats whilst on the move, more than happy to solve any technical issues we may come across. I have experience with night shifts, and of course have no issues with night watch. Although not known for my cooking ability, I'm more than happy to chip in, and failing that will of course do the washing up
I like to think I'm very easy to get on with, and seem to be able to get on and work with everyone.
If you need a crew, then send me an email, aidan_burridge@hotmail.co.uk, please do not reply to this post or send PM, and I do not check this forum regularly.
Thanks for reading, Aidan.

What is the chance of getting a free crew berth for the arc? I fancy doing it too, but all i see is berths at £3000+

Your right Steve, there are some commecial yachts offering places for 3-8k! If your lucky, you may find a boat that needs an extra pair of hands. You will of course be expected to cover your own travel, and contribute towards boat cost though.

Good luck.
