Dear Friends. My Moody Eclipse 33 is mounting a Raymarine Linear Hidraulic T2 unit. It have a wonderfull performance but really too much power consumption. I am planning to mount a Linear mecanic one but I dont want to loose this escelent performance. Do you think T! unit is enough or would you install a T2 unit?

Thank you very much for your Help?

Check for stiff rudder bearings if autopilot power consumption is very high. The ram on mine kept overheating until I cleaned and re-greased the bearings.

Isn't he planning to fit a 12v mechanical linear drive?

Hee He yes he is
But to OP type one is plenty , I am using type 2 linear for an 11 tonne boat un laden at 12.6 metres and that is on the border for type 1 and 2 but an going Ocean sailing so went large.

Rereading OP you could be right.
Interesting how we interpret mechanical.

there are 2 drives one is 12 v linear drive which can be called the mechanical one:D and the other one is the hydraulic unit which uses hydraulic fluid this is the one the op wants to replace and is rather oversised for for his boat

Dear Friends. Thank you very much for your comments! Question is that T1 to T2 have a small price diference, but is announced that T2 have almost the double of consumption. Just dont want to be short....
