Hi, Just bought two used D6 engines with DPH drives and Joystick steering.
My boat has an old autohelm autopilot hydraulic? (KAD300s + DPG)
So I need to upgrade to a new electric autopilot? All AP packages I find online is with hydraulic pumps.
As I understand it, the Autopilot in Glass Cockpit uses the electronic steering and sensors so nothing extra had to be bought - but I am not willing to pay a fortune for Pentas Glass Cockpit with autopilot. I use the autopilot maybe 10 times per season... If I say 8-10 hours in total I am most likely exaggerating.
As I've seen on this forum the DPH-drives with joystick has two power rams on each drive (?) and all of them has positioning "sensors" (?)
What do I need then to get this up and running? A head unit and an interphace? I can't fint anything on either Raymarine or Garmin webpage or stores...
