No readind at instrument i.e direction or speed. Power to intrument ok as digital wind speed ok. Last year measured viltage at deck from mast head unit and got reading/voltage. Join below mast choc block connector. Any similar probs. or could some one give details of wiring. Unit is older type normal size non the newer narrower model.

Do you get "00" or "--" in the speed display? Is the direction on 0 dgrees or somewhere else?

-- and ) degrees indicate no signal at all and I would suspect wiring. 00 and direction aiming somewhere in the wrong direction indicated the sensors are wrong (they pack up often and cost a fortune to replace :((()

You don't mention the model etc - we have ST50 and when first installed (10+ years ago) we were getting all sorts of problems. After having the instrument and the masthead unit checked and changed it turned out to be the masthead block so we had to change that and the cable running down the mast. After that we have had no problems until this year when the masthead unit required an overhaul.

Hello!
I had a ST50 wind instrument installed in 1995. I once did some measurements on the signal cables. May be this could be of any help:
screen-red: approx. 8v (supply voltage?)
screen-yellow: 4-8v depending of wind speed
blue and green: signal depending on wind direction.
I have twice replaced the small masthead PCB-board. On both occations both wind direction and speed indication was "dead".
