Autohelm tiller pilot

I use 2000+ with masthead vane and it works fairly well but sometimes is "iffy". I also use an ST50 steering compass on the sea talk bus with the autopilot,however some opinions at Raytheon say that the two fluxgate compasses on the same bus will conflict.I am told however that with an ST50plus this does not occur.I should find out for myself next month.

I intend fitting a Raytheon ST2000+ tiller pilot to a Vancouver 27. Does anyone have experience/comments on the performance of the pushpit mounted windvane that is available as an accessory ? The performance I imagine must be somewhat compromised by mounting on the pushpit rather than the masthead.

All feedback on this and any general comments on tiller pilots gratefully received !
