Hi All
Looking to see if anybody has had a problem or could give advice with a Autohelm ST6000 autopilot
The head unit is flashing with a Low Battery warning and beeping, I have checked the manual and it states that this is due to a voltage drop below 11 volts, I have checked and there is over 12 volts to the unit, any ideas please

Many thanks

Thanks for the reply, the warning message and buzzer only come up when the autopilot is switched on, at this point it will not engage but did have over 12 volts at the conections.
looks like it maby a problem with the course computer,

Many thanks for your help

Your description of the symptoms is not complete enough to understand your problem, but here is one go.

If the ST6000 and the other instruments on the bus operate on the 12v when turned on but go into low volt mode when an electrically driven linear (or other electrically driven) drive is engaged eg the "Auto" button is pushed, then the problem is probably a loose or high resistance connection in the main power cabling to the course computer.

But you do not mention trouble with the other instruments - however, what can complicate trouble shooting such a problem is if you are using a course computer which puts 12v on the Seatalk bus and also powers the autopilot drive (as the 100/300's, for example, do) it is sometimes that the Seatalk bus has 12v put on it elsewhere as well, as a backup to provide voltage to the instruments in case of course computer problems. If that is so then all the instruments on the bus will operate normally but if the loose/high resistance connection problem exists the ST6000 alone will go into low voltage mode when the "Auto" button is pushed, but wherever you check the voltage around the system it is always confusingy 12v unless you check the voltage actually on the drive cabling between the computer and the drive when the drive is actuated.

More details would have helped.

John
