Hello to everyone. My name is Angelo and I live in Rome (Italy).
I have recently purchased an Autohelm ST50 speed and I need to replace cable.
Anyone knows if and how it is possible to open it?
If not, where can I buy a new device?
Thanks
AF

Thank you Foeu. Yes, it should be that. My question was also if it is possible to replace only the cable leaving the transducer that seems in good conditions.
It should be just a matter of find the way to open it but, looking carefully, it is not clear how to do it. There are no screws or other thing.

AeFFe, I very much doubt that you could open it and repair it. I may be wrong but I think that you'll have to buy the whole thing.

If there is any cable coming out of the transducer then it would be fairly simple to extend it; I would use solder with heatshrink over the individual cores and then adhesive heatshrink over the whole joint to keep it waterproof. But if there is no cable at all emerging from the transducer then I don't think it can be fixed.

So no way to open it.
Yes, there is some cable coming out of the transducer and I can extend it. I am a little worried for the final waterproofing using heatshrink. Perhaps I could use a sealed box and join cables inside it.
Ok, thank you very much for your help.
