Does anyone know the procedure for the calibration of an Autohelm ST50 close hauled meter for apparent wind angle. The Raymarine service centre near Fareham were unable to assist but indicated that it is possible using a special jig. I got the impression that it basically involves resetting the meter needle on its spindle. Better still I would like to obtain a copy of the official service manual for the instrument. Unfortunately I have been unable to locate one on line. Service manuals for later models are available in the public domain but are not applicable.

The shared manual in the Raymarine retired / legacy website says AWA calibration for the ST50 Close Hauled Meter is exactly the same as for the Wind Instrument,
ie Cal -> CO -> adjust with < >.
Is your requirement different?

I don't think it says that at all. It only says that installation and maintenance are the same. And it mentions that the < > rocker switch is a dummy on the close hauled display.

I had the same st50 vmg analog display behaving in weird ways (needle kept turning round, then stabilised with 40° difference from wind direction, then making another turn, etc etc), it takes the signal from the 360° so:it cannot be individually adjusted.
I brought it to a raymarine center, the guy cannibalized something from a st60 or st70 and repaired it, now it works, except the light is always on; the technician told me it mlight do that. I paid 60 euro for the repair, possibly the lowest price I paid for a repair *ever*.

Addition
Before that, I opened the case and tried to adjust the position of the needle by hand, then disconjected everything from the transducer, on off on off... All to no avail
