Autohelm ST3000 only gives me one bearing !?

Hi all,

In the new (to us) Colvic there is an Autohelm ST3000 and all it does all day is show 168 degrees (with a C gently flashing next to it). I've had a go at what think is the compass calibration, but I'm not sure that is working or I'm doing it quite right, and I still just get 168 degrees. Are these fairly reliable? I have the NASA2 set also on the boat (and the Wind 2 thinks the wind only blows from one direction ) but not checked to see if the SeaTalk is wired into the ST3000 from anywhere, but I would not expect that to make much difference? Even if the compass was not calibrated at all I would still expect to see some change in the given direction displayed as the boat turns!?

Any thoughts folks?
Cheers,
Matt.
