Tillergirl very kindly sent me a replacement battery cover so I checked the old batteries to see what part number they have. They've never been changed before. One says CR2016 and the other says CR 2025! Why is this thus?

According to the manual, which you can find on Raymarine's website, they should both be CR2025

Manual:

Putting two cells of different capacities in series with each other would make no sense at all.

Just for the future, the second pair of digits is the thickness in tenths of a millimetre. eg. A 2016 is 1.6mm thick.

Edit. In cased you hadn't worked it out... the first pair is the diameter.

Thanks but I'll just go ahead with two 2025s. But I am still baffled about finding the 2016 in there - I'm sure I've never opened it before so the mix of batteries must have been as supplied!
