Autohelm GPS display

I am looking at purchasing a boat that has an Autohelm GPS display in the cockpit and a chart table repeater. I am used to using a chart plotter but there isn't one currently on this boat. My question is, what is actually displayed on the Autohelm GPS display? Do you put in waypoints using lat and long and it then tells you your distance to the waypoint? I have tried searching on the Autohelm website but this unit must be discontinued and I can't find any information.

My autohelm 7000 and 8000 will display Distance, bearing and xtrack error to a waypoint, but you need to enter the waypoint on the GPS.
It will also dislay wind direction speed depth COG in fact almost anything.

The Raymarine Graphic Repeater simply repeats data from the GPS or plotter. Although pricy it's a nice bit of kit.

The "chapters" include Speed/Depth/ Nav and enviro, but the Favourites can be set to display up to four items which can be unrelated - I have Distance to Waypoint, Bearing to Waypoint, Speed over Ground and Course over Ground together, as well as some other combinations.
