I have an autohelm 3000 on my boat which is not connected up because the three connectors on the back of the control box do not have mating connectors. Ive tried a number of things to identify the connectors which should be 2 pin female including Raymarine who pointed me to their service centre. They in turn all wanted to see the unit ( unfortunately its in Gran canaria). Maybe Dri-plug? nothing on their web site which looks remotely like it would fit. I wonder if any one out there has an old autohelm 3000 fitted and could you check to mating connectors to the control box and see if there are any identifying marks or do you know who would supply them.
Thanks alot for the time and effort guys!

I think that I have the same unit if the control box is a wedge shape, but the instructions are else where at present. I just use the inbuilt fluxgate compass so only use 2 of the wires to supply the 12 volts. As autohlem did a couple of 3000 wheel units it may also assist to describe it.
If it is the early round unit pm me your email address and I will scan in the owners handbook that I have retained and email.

I've been trying to find a source for these plugs and sockets. I think that they are made by Switchcraft which is part of the Raytheon group. See http://www.switchcraft.com

I have an ST3000 which uses smaller plugs but have a 3000 controller for backup and would like to buy the sockets and plugs to make up a conversion cable. Can you post a message if you find a supplier?

Thanks for the pointers Guys. The control unit is more square shaped and the connectors are positioned at the bottom. Raymarine was not particularly helpful saying they didnt carry these connectors as they formed part of a harness which is 20 years old, built in China and now obsolete. Ive looked at the switchcraft connectors and will purchase and try one, but I suspect they're too long for the mounting position.
If this fails, I may well remove the current male connectors from the box and fit new ones with preferably a right angled mating half. (If you see what I mean)
In any event, if anyone else can throw a light on these connectors which I understand were part of an original seatalk assembly I would be grateful. Thanks for the input guys
Mike
