Autohelm 3000 remote control

I have an Autohelm 3000 control head with a 4 pin remote socket.

The remote control that I have is the 5 pin version. Can the plug on the remote be changed to a 4 pin?

My ST3000 manual indicates that it can work with NEMA0183 and wind vane connections, but doesn't show a remote. Perhaps that's why the pins don't match. You can get a manual (PDF) from the Raymarine website.

We had an AH3000 wheel pilot on our boat when we bought her, and from memory of the manual, the socket is only for a wind vane input.

The ST3000 control head that I fitted in place of the AH3000 control head, will take a Seatalk remote control. This is what I can, and do, now use.

I think the ST3000 is now unavailable, unless you can get a second hand unit - I bought a spare control head off ebay last year. The ST3000 head will work with the AH3000 motor.
