I have an old Autohelm 2000, which up to now has done its job of pointing in one direction well.

I also have Raymarine ST60’s running on Seatalk 1, including wind.

Recently I joined the 21st Century and got a B & G Zeus Touch 7 Chartplotter, I have connected the B & G to the ST60’s by using a seatalk 1 to Seatalk NG converter and then putting everything into an NMEA 2000 backbone and it all seems to work well

I have always tended to ignore the Autohelm 2000’s input for a wind vane, assuming it is some old sort of system which would not talk to the ST instruments, but am I right?
If it is, say NMEA 1083 could I daisy-chain that off of the ST60’s? or even run it off of the B & G’s 0183 connectors (given the B & G has the wind information on it)?

Thanks, but the problem is that is an ST2000, I have the old original Autohelm 2000 with the black box and a separate drive.

I have just found the old manual for it, and it says ‘The interface may be used with and radio navigation system that outputs cross track error to either the NMEA 0180, 0182 or 1083 standard’ (which gives you an idea of its age)’, but nothing about the wind.

Maybe I just have to wire it in and see what happens?
