Re: Points taken ... but I was really talking more general ...
Dave, Nigel.... thank you for some more 'reassuring' experiences. As I am looking at getting a tiller pilot the experience from the rest of you is much appreciated. I think the auto-tack feature will definitely be one of the frequently used features.
One thing not mentioned is that the system (assuming you have wind connected to the bus) will not allow you to tack the wrong way ie bear away 100deg which could be interesting - not a problem under sail because you probably wouldnt try to do it - but confusing if you try and use it under engine and dont twig whats going (or rather not going) on. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Unless there were some quite late product cycle software changes in the ST6000 and 100/300 software the autotack angle is not adjustable.
From memory even the ST6001+ on the 100/300 computers does not allow tacking angle adjustment and only does if the 100/300 is substituted by one of the newer Smartpilots (but I do stand to be corrected on that - we have a ST6001+ on a 300 computer but as I never use autotack it is not something I have actually tested). {Edit - manual says ST6001+ on 100/300 and 150/400 computers is adjustable for autotack angle, but as I say I have not tested that - but will /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif}.
