did anyone manage to identify the boat by the way, the guy selling it said to the buyer, cruises 25kts, good for 35-40 knts, looked like Cats to me, must be pretty big ones

SHAKARA - 40ft custom-built Pleysier designed by David Pleysier.
Launched in November 1998, and is in survey for 8 persons + 2 crew.

She is powered by Twin Cummins B370 Diesel Engines.

Yes very good web site Rob, boat weighs 7 ton loaded so cant really see the 40knts claimed . Terrific boat though. Interesting to see its not GRP

My only gripe is that the web site has everything but prices, which are via phone or fax? If I was surfing different web sites to charter a fishing boat, I would want the prices on the site not have to faff about phoning. Especially if I'm not yet in Australia.

I'd probably see the prices on a couple of sites then if happy book on line

Yes agreed, prices are required on the website otherwise as you say it's a real bore. Don't you think the whole program was a hell of a good advert for Mrs Marketing of the couple though? She seemed to have the nouse to really move it on and stopping the frigging around that seemed to be going on between the skipper and the decky husband. I bet she's had a few job offers.............!

Having appeared in several documentaries in the 1970s and even one in the 90s I was lucky. I had been forewarned that producers look for anything they can sieze on. Even so I still came unstuck. On the Man Alive program one Interviewer asked me how I had learned to Navigate so precisely (No GPS in those days) Without thinking I responded "by driving a mini-cab" When the film came out it referred to me as a former mini-cab driver.
