Aujourd’hui

So lunch in the sun took a little longer because.......

So by early afternoon the breeze had picked up. Nonetheless still great boaty conditions and we are now on the island. Tomorrow is a bit windy so will return the day after

Well my wife and I had a very pleasant day today.

To North Greenwich and across the Thames on an Emirates cable car.

Then to the famous E. Pellici cafe on Bethnal Green Road for a good lunch (queued 30 minutes to get seats) of home-made chicken & mushroom pie and roast potatoes, followed by treacle sponge & custard. This, plus two large tumblers of wine, cost £29.50 for the two of us.

After that we walked down Brick Lane, ejoying the multicultural atmosphere, and exploring markets and old side streets.

Always something interesting to do in London.

Pies are the thing I miss most in my exile
