Joliette was handed over to a new custodian this weekend, thanks to the splendid services of Richard Gregson at Woodenships.

Under-the circumstances it would be inappropriate for me to continue masquerading on here under the name of a former much loved boat, so I have decided to leave the forum. I would like to thank everyone for answering my many questions over the past 10 years. The support and advice I received on here was both excellent and invaluable in helping me through the many challenges of owning a classic boat.

I may return one day with a new boat but for now I'm retiring from the world of classic boats to focus my energies in the world of music, which is something I've returned to over the last few years. I recently reflected on my sailing experiences to produce a piano piece, Mayflower, after the Plath poem.... 'when staunch island stock chose forfeiture of the homeland hearth ... they named their ship after the flower of May':https://soundcloud.com/settimo-velo/mayflower
