Who was the ATYC VSP who woke up the Hambledon Lock keeper with his passing this morning? The Lock Keeper said the boat was flying a smart defaced blue ensign. It seems however that he forgot to close the lock gates, thus interrupting a Public Footpath!

More ATYC news... Silver Dragon pulled out of the first boat handling test with a rope around the left prop, and also fished up a pallet on the main anchor in the same test!! Unfortunately two other boats also got ropes around their props on this test. Alex likes to set a trend!
With the aid of Bray's Commodore we got the rope mostly unwound, then Alex donned his wetsuit and got the last of it off the prop.
Silver Dragon was then allowed to carry out the next three tests, and won the Cadet Cup and the Twickenham Cup for second best first time entrant.

I happened to be in Henley over the weekend & watched some of the Rally. I was very impressed with all the competition boats, and especially the bloke who dived under to get the ropes off, he must have been cold.
Well done to all you chaps.

Yes, the other two boats seemed to be much more tangled up than Silver Dragon was, and the poor diver was down there for a long time.

Alex just ducked under and (after gashing his finger on the prop) managed to free the rope.
