Attaching solar panels - novice question

You could just use some 25mm add on tubing to the pushpit (from Seascrew) and mount something on there like so

I have a 30w panel attched to the roof with heavy duty 3m 'velcro'
I used very nice side entry cable glands which make a nice job of routing the cables into the boat.

Nice installation. One question, why have you got two cables from the panel? Second question, I notice it's partly shaded by the boom, does that affect the output much?
