Short Handed Sailing by Alastair Buchan, very practical and hands on book about him doing it in a Hurley or similar type. (Dockrell?) The book stands out in my memory as being excellent, although I had to look up the spelling of his christian name, can't you chaps standardise?

Google 'sfbaysss singlehanded tips', I can't do a link sorry, there is a free download, lots of excellent advice fron a single handed, more about fast sailing or racing, lots of pages. Probly worth printing out. Also go on the Jester part of this forum, cheers Jerry.

It looks a great find. Also try Paul Heiney - The Last Man Across the Atlantic. Enjoyable yarn.
