Just getting back to the wild bird subject for a moment. We sadly found a dead Kingfisher on the pontoons New Years Day.

What do you mean outbreak...... theres always been twa## in Nort... Oopps you said miserable oh well.
It's caused by lack of sunshine and alcohol, mind you the days are getting longer now, just need a little bit of painting, anode cleaning, stern gland checking Anti fouling and of course the usual VARNISHING ect..... no wonder we're miserable!

Good, you are of course invited to come and have a cup of tea at Catastrophe Towers - waterside venue - I do have a chair she can sit upon.
Philz, if they can shed the menagerie for ten minutes are also invited to sit upon my floor supping cha, once they have been checked for dog hairs (Attack whippets are more or less hairless, so I don't need to inspect the LS crew quite so closely.)

Yes we reckon so, we saw it the previous afternoon flying very close to the mesh at the top of the ramp, I reckon he must've hit it when it was going dusk. Very sad, we were looking forward to hopefully seeing young.
He was buried at sea, well mud actually.

I doubt you will get any flak. It is true, after all.
Really sad about the kingfisher. I was looking forward to following its progress this year. Not sure if the young re-use the nest site.

Incidently there is a kingfisher that patrols the posh end occassionally so not all is lost!
