What a great Spring day it was (and still is) in North Wales today - and just perfect for launching Coney Island for her 6th season in my ownership.

The engines started without fuss, everything worked and we flew back from Pwllheli to Porthmadog in glorious sunshine, light winds, crystal-clear viz and definite grin on my face.

It seems to have been a long winter and this breath of spring-like weather is most welcome. And the price of LPG is still 50ppl - luvvly-jubbly!

Thanks for that, first weekend we haven't been down to the boat for a few weeks, decided to stay home and catch up on some decorating! Still, glad to hear someone made use of the decent weather. Well done that man!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well done Dave, I'm all ready to go after a weekend spent cleaning up after the winter service, antifoul and gearbox rebuild, all my gear is back in the boat and she is sparkling.

Roll on Friday, La Traviata back on the water, midday lift at Conwy!

your post brings a smile to my face,
A nice boat with 2 nice petrol engines
I can feel the exitement,
and after a long cold winter, finally some spring in the air ...

enjoy

Its actually named after the Van Morrison song, "Coney Island" from the Avalon Sunset album, which is in itself named after Coney Island - Coney Island, is not an island as most people think, but is actually a group of cottages which are just off the winding road between Ardglass and Killough. Strangford Lough area if I'm right.

ty for reply, and indeed a lovely reason and theme to name a boat coney island. You are right about the area near ardglass however there is an island on lough neagh that is inhabited by warden peter mc clelland on lough neagh . a beautiful place to visit if you are ever on lough neagh . google coney island lough neagh in the image search to see the island .
