At 1st there were driverless cars, now..............

I can definitely see a business ferrying stuff around supporting the off-shore industries. Automated loading/unloading/shipping etc. Much of the technology will spread to ferries and commercial craft, and much like the underground, a skipper (driver) will remain on board to "oversee" things. These will be phased out eventually as the technology matures and becomes accepted.
The interesting side will be the military/spooks. So, you want to bomb the houses of Parliament? Fill one of these with fertilizer and diesel, light blue touch paper, and finish the job that Guy Fawkes started :encouragement:

According to the discovery channel the Israelis have very fast heavily armed unmanned boats for costal and harbor defense

Driverless cars ? Nothing new. My wife had one back in the 70's. It wasn't advertised as driverless but it may as well have been :)
