Only way to solve this is to wait till the SV meets the 911 on the race track.

So if it is a worse car than the 911 in every respect that won't matter provided it's 1/2 second quicker round a track?

Must be better ways of judging a car than that surely...??

Well as the name will not effect anything, styling is a personal thing, how else do you judge a 185 mph car ?
Both are sold as a race car, so it must be engineering that is the critical decider, and the only way to prove that is the track. If not why not just design nice cars and put a mondeo engine in, after all there's a 70 mph speed limit so handling etc does not meen much does it for normal road use.

If that were the case Ferrari and Porsche would never sell another car and everyone would be driving Nobles!

Track performance is important in a high performance car, but it's a long long way from being everything...

I think MG-rover are doing a fantastic job reinventing the BRITISH marque.
Lets face it, BMW screwed them with the Mini witch was developed with MG-Rover money and the Land Rover.
The MG range is trying to find a gap in the Market and I really think the SV has a market out there. Sure you could buy a nice Porker, Merc & Or AMG but thats what the old guys do. Theres alot of younger (physically and mentally) wealthy people out there at the moment who love there muscle cars. They want something different that will stand out from the crowd which is exactly what it does, and it is to be available with Nitros and 965hp.
I don't understand us british we all so easliy slate anything british, isn't it about time we supported british industry. We were once known as GREAT Britain if more of us bought british maybe we would be again. I know its Italian built but its a british owned company, lets see some support.
You may ask what do I drive? Well I have supported MG-Rover with an MG ZT+190, MG ZS 180 and MG TF135 all of which have given no trouble at all and have been great fun to drive.

How are things? I gave you a lift to cowes to pick up your sports boat - remember? What happened to the Birchwood? I thought your idea was to sail of into the sunset with your wife on the ts37, not play with a 111' motor yacht.

Also the SV has one thing the Germans do not, that Yanky V8 note.
If I had the money I'd buy one for that, bit of a British Cobra.
As for shape, I don't love it, but hay when I bought a Sierra I thought it looked pig ugly, but sitting in the drivers seat you don't see the outside.

I have to say, that sounds remarkably like the old shape Aston Vantage (the last of the properly hand made ones).

Coming to think of it, you can now get a good, late model, one of those for about £70-80k...I would rather have one of those than thos ugly MG jobbies. In fact I would rather have a lot of things than one of those ugly MG jobbies.
