Hi,

If all goes to plan we should complete the purchase of a Regal 2665 in the next week or two. The boat is currently in Brighton Marina and her new home will be Poole.

I have contacted four companies regarding having the boat delivered by a delivery skipper or by assisted delivery, but none of them have replied!

I am happy to just have the boat delivered, but ideally I would like an assisted delivery, as I am not positive that I have the skills necessary for the passage and it would help me learn.

I started to make a basic passage plan , but there seems a fair bit going on (lumpy seas around Brighton Marina, submarine barrier, large vessels on the eastern approaches, etc).

I have only been from Poole as far as Newtown Creek, and had a fairly lumpy run back even when conditions should have been good and using the North Channel, so am a bit wary of making the passage without someone more experienced/knowledgeable on board.

Does anyone know of any companies I could contact, or an individual that might be willing to undertake such a thing? Or failing that any advice on the route?

Regards,
Justin

Mendez marine. Not Jon Mendez anymore but still good. Julie is one of her instructors and she’s one of the very best if she’s free. I’m sure they’ll have others but I don’t know them. (she used to post on here as powerskipper)

Hi Justin, I am not a professional or an expert, I am a Day Skipper with 500 miles experience, nearly all in the Solent and Chichester area. If you think I can help let me know, I am available most days and I'd be happy to assist. All it would cost you is a cup of coffee maybe :).

Tony Tester based in Poole would no doubt be able to help - tony753@icloud.com / @bspokeboating1 on facebook - an ex marine police instructor now does own boat training / tuition.

He has been really helpful for us with initial handling on new boat and familiarisation trips to Solent and also West Country from Poole. I know that he does delivery trips too right along South Coast.

Hi everyone,
Thank you very much for your replies, I really appreciated it.

Purplepaj, that is really kind of you, I would have loved to take you up on your offer, but unfortunately/fortunately I have found an RYA instructor that is now going to come along with me, and it wouldn’t be fair to cancel him.
Best regards,
Justin

No problem, glad you're sorted.
