If you're flying, Nantes is the nearest airport with regular flights.

If you're driving, the overnight Plymouth-Roscoff ferry is quite handy.
Newhaven-Dieppe is a cheaper alternative.

Half an hour by taxi or hire car (if you will have running around to do) to Arzal.

La baule is v popular with posh people in Paris so well served by train.

That’s just what my wife says !! (Well, she is from t’Yorkshire). As it happens, we live just outside Paris so life is even easier.

There is a bus you can get from Beauvais airport to Saint Denis universite. There you can hop on line 13 of the metro which will take you straight to Montparnasse.

Public transport there's a 3X daily bus between Arzal and Vannes SNCF or taxi from Questembert, we used both a few times, easy train to/from St Malo via Rennes if you're on foot or a couple of hours driving, guess it depends where you are in UK

Thanks. Edinburgh. Used to fly direct to most places from Dublin. Edinburgh not so good. Trains are a bit of a hassle, too.
