ASAP Supplies

It was not a price request it was a catalogue code request so I could place an on line order. The Email is now a week old and your post is the first reply I have had.

Is my order urgent ? Well I was hoping to carry out the work at a time convenient to me but it appears my mistake was not to include LIBS in the plan.

But in any event the work must be completed in the next three weeks. So all the bits must be delivered by then. All the work is being done on the same day so part delivery is no good.

A reply in another 10 days when you are all back from the boat show saying you have some parts in stock and we can order the rest for you but it will take another three weeks will not ensure my future custom.

I think you will find that ASAP try harder than most - don't be in too much of a hurry to write them off. I think you would have had a slow response from anybody you tried at this time of year. The leisure marine industry consists mainly of small to middle sized firms who just don't have the staff to give fast turnaround on orders/enquiries at peak times.

The lesson to learn is: don't try to buy yottie stuff in a hurry at boat show time.

Why not just phone them? I always do and they are consistantly quick to deliver and several of them have a good knowledge of the bits they sell and can offer advice -- very pleased with the advice offered re: fuel tanks. I ordered a a new racor fuel filter water sep from them last thjing on Friday and it showed up Tuesday (I think) still not collected it)

As others have said its Boat show week and most of the bigger chandelries/suppliers seem thinly staffed at the office

Going by the suggestions on here its prob best that you give tham another fair crack at it. You will probably find that ASAP are better then 90% of the onine chandlers that you could be dealing with so be patient and I am sure you will get what you want.

Thanks for all the input everyone.

The got back to me yesterday and based on all your reassurances the order has been placed.

Maybe its just me but it still seems a little odd that in the strange world of boats the customer has to fit in with the supplier's plans and arrangements.

Beleive me you are still doing ok despite what you think is a delay. You could do alot lot worse and you'd be hard pushed to find better.

Glad its all being sorted.

Used them on recomendation from a friend after bad experience with my then usual supplier.
Bought exhaust parts - hose, collector, clips and outlet last year.
All arrived in 2 days and fitted a treat. And I got a discount!
Plan to buy more this year (water system) and prices quoted from them at the show were the best to date. I reckon they are OK

Further to my earlier post about a part I ordered 8/9 days ago, Heat-Exchanger,
I Emailed them today to inquire as to when i could expect delivery, They had the curtesy to telephone me, explaining that they have been busy at the boat show.
And also that the part I ordered is not carried in stock, all though it is listed in their catalogue.
And that I could not expect delivery for another two weeks !.....
When I ordered I said it was not urgent BUT !.... Why was I not told this at the time of order ?

Its okay pursuing new customers at the boat show, but I am also a new customer and feel a little more attention should have been made in keeping me informed and keeping me as a long term customer !
