I ordered a small part for a Johnson sea water pump from ASAP sometime ago, this was of value <£10 and sent via ordinary mail to me in Italy; after waiting a suitable period it did not arrive (I know, I know ... I should have known better than to trust the Italian mail service!!). Anyway when I enquired of ASAP as to when it was sent, they offered to send me another one free of charge (without my asking). Anyway, this time I decided to have it sent to my son's address in England. The other day ASAP e-mailed me to say that there was a 4 - 5 week delay in obtaining the part from the Johnson distributor and would I like it shipped to Italy via courier with a tracking number (all at their cost) when it does become available. As it is not urgent I told them to just send it to the UK address when it is available, as I need to rebuild a spare pump and it is not so urgent.
The point is that they are "going the extra mile" for something of little value (and very little profit) just to keep a customer happy .............. this does not happen very often these days and I feel it deserves a mention!!!
