That's a cracking idea Tony. I don't believe for a second that the oil or filters are spent after 80 hours, but my main concern is maintaining FSH and re-sale value, so if I had a certificate from a regognised company showing the oil is still fine and plenty of life in it, that should satisfy most buyers i'd have thought.

Always said you were wasted on what now skip, or was that you must have been wasted .... ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

They do it a lot in the aviation business. Whereas critical components like helicopter gearboxes had to be changed after a fixed number of hours regardless, they now use the condition of the oil to assess its condition. They call it 'on condition maintenance' I believe.

Good point about getting a certificate from a professional outfit to prove you haven't just been skipping the oil changes.

Just wasted really. But WNS is definitely the biggest challenge of my journalistic career (had two others before this) and has certainly taught me a lot. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
