As Puppy is now going to happen - what nautical names???

Right - have given in to SWMBO and Springer puppy will happen. So names, I thought one of the following

Bismark
Borat
Bosun
Nelson ('cept he's got 2 eyes at the moment)
Hornblower
Not Captain - as he may get ideas above station
Jelico
Hood

Lets have some more ideas - you have got to be able to yell it!

Being serious Jack, Nat or Drake are all yellable and famous names with naval connections real or fictional.

All of my dogs have had one syllable names as I think dogs react to them better - how about good old 'Jack'?.

If you want to make it easy to train him/her definitely go for a one syllable name or, if you must have two syllables, make one of them very short.

Something nautical? Crest, Clove, Tack, Gybe .. not very inspired ... what about Sam (for Sailor Sam) or Bill (for Barnacle Bill).

Final suggestion, and the one I like best - Salty (Salty Dog)

Being a springer, it doesnt matter what you call it, it will behave like a lunatic anyway. Ours is nearly 12 years old, and finally starting to calm down.
