More scientific proof

aha. Well, that adds weight to my "yacht varnish" theory, i reckon.

The chemicals given off from the yacht varnish are obviously less active during cold winter months, hence leading to yotties being in a much better mood. The worst period will be a hot calm day in the solent when all the yachties are almost suffocating from yacht varnish fumes from their own and other boat, and the stinikie potters will belt around at their highest velocities, thus leading to very high disparity between lightheaded stinkpotters and chemically affected raggies.

As raggies we were berthed (Swanwick) next to David and Tricia Richardson with their mobo "Toscana". What a delightful couple - we agreed to swap days on each others boats. We went out on Toscana II to Lymington for lunch. They were extremely courteous by ensuring their wash had minimal effect on other water users.

We moved and left UK waters before they had their day with us - the offer still stands.
