I'm in the process of replacing the Teflon bushes, bevel adjusting washers and the headed bushes on Aries. After stripping the thing down I found I don't have these spares in my box.

Does anybody have an up to date contact number for Helen Franklin? I've tried e-mail but no response so far, the mobile number I had doesn't work anymore and there is no response or answer phone on the number listed on the website.

Failing that, do the parts from the new Dutch model fit the old (CIRCA 1981) model?

Hi Ariadne,

Whilst I do not have a phone number for Helen Franklin, I do know that is about and replying to e-mail (I received an e-mail from Helen week before last).

I believe that there is an agreement that the new builders of the Aries will not supply parts to owners of the old Aries, we have one of the "Lift-up" models, so you will probably need to deal with Helen.

Cheers for that, I have the e-mail address just need an answer from her.

Shame about the new builders not supplying spares, as I need some ASAP. You'd have thought they would some sort agreement between them to us 'the users' out.

Seems I'll have wait for the e-mail to come back, how long did it take for her to respond?
 
My experience of Helen is that responses can be very variable. I'd keep trying on the number given on the website, eventually you'll get hold of her or her husband. When you do you'll find either of them very helpful.
 
I've dealt with both of them in the past and always found them helpful, but as you say getting hold of either of them is more than a bit hit and miss.

Had mine completely rebuilt by them in 2007, they did a great job and very reasonable for the amount of work needed.

Just didn't get bushes etc - they seem to wear/swell up very fast in warm water.

I'll just keep trying, I'll get there in the end.

Getting responses from Helen can take persistence. She doesn't like emails as she prefers human interaction, but is not always around to answer the telephone. Keep trying, preferably by telephone. I get the impression that it is a bit of a cottage industry and family takes first priority. Nice to chat to when you do get through though.
