Would anyone know anything about these bronze and stainless steel wind vanes? I have recently become the custodian of one of these beautiful contraptions.
Hoping that it doesn't remain an ornament in my workshop, I would like anyone who has any knowledge about them to either post here
or get in touch.

Welcome. I have a 1980's lift-up, don't know if they have much in common it's mainly alloy castings. You will get more chance of replies, by the way, on the main Scuttlebutt part of the forum even though it's an old windvane.

Thanks Gary the bronze and stainless one is very different with the turning mechanism completely enclosed within the tubing.
Although Nick Franklin wrote that the no4 was the same as the standard Aeries he must have been referring to the principle of operation not any of the components or appearance.
Although 400 of them were sold between 1975 and 76 there is almost nothing written about them on line.
I will try Scuttlebutt and maybe turn over a stone or two.
