Early to mid October here in the U.K. and we are being given some lovely weather. So trying to make the most of it.

Are you still using your boat or have you put it to bed

our recent trip out below

Short trip up to non tidal waters, weekend just gone.
Trip to ST Kats Dock end of this month.
Short Xmas weekend trip (5 miles round trip ) to local MDL Marina in November .
Overnighter to watch fireworks on the 6th Nov.
Then the year starts again with the club New Years Day cruise out followed by grub and refreshments in the club house.
....................and never once going near a metal tube full of people hoping to pass on every disease known to man and chinese bat. :)

going past Dover last month.
F1 moderating.

Thats how I feel about the metal tube with wings but I used to go on them a lot. Looks like you keep going all year

......and Doncha just love waiting for the 00.30 flight back from Nice/ Malaga etc and the departure board is announcing that the flight has not yet left Gatwick. :)

Sunday was an overnight stay at Bucklers Hard on Beaulieu river.
Superb weather and sea state. Quite pricey Marina, especially when as I was charged extra cost to stay just few more hours.
Boat will come out in November and back in before Xmas.

Cricky that is a quick turn around. The Barnacles will be back in the water for Christmas Dinner

Yep, Sunday in the Solent was perfect, sunny and calm, anchored in a bay for the afternoon and I was the only motor boat there plus two yachts which surprised me a little. I will be doing the same throughout the winter, some of the best days are in winter.

We had lovely weather on Saturday to bring the boat up the coast from the Deben for winter lift at a boatyard close by. She is now out of the water so end of the season for us.

However, not all is lost as we are just completing on the purchase of this beauty, which comes with a trailer so if we do get some more nice weather this month we might be tempted to have the odd foray.

We have some years in the SoF where there is almost no winter boating but then again some years are brilliant ?So paying for winter mooring is a gamble, but this gamble can be offset if you keep the boat in a very pleasant port so you can still use it as a holiday cottage
