It's useful to know that she did all this in a 40yo awb, a Jeanneau Gin Fizz, 37' ketch, lengthened to 40' with a stern platform. She also changed the engine to a physically smaller 40hp and added a second 10hp Yanmar as a back-up. She found this more economical to use on flat calms.
She said that the boat was rock solid and beautifully balanced. Thanks Michel Joubert. Second hand GF's are on the market from about €25k - €50k (add maybe another €25k in preparation) and so living the dream does not require being a millionnaire.
