Are we live aboards or just homeless

Well five years in the planning and we have arrived at the day when we move out of the house.
Mixed feelings as we have lived here since 1988 but the rental income will fund our change of life style, however still feels like we are becoming homeless.

On the up side the view from Artemis is a lot prettier and feels more like home now.

Will be hanging around Fambridge, but also hoping to get some sailing in before we have Artemis lifted 15th Sept and heading to Cyprus 19th returning for Xmas then again in the spring for final prep before we set sail for the med.

Good to hear things are moving forward Nev, and best of luck to both of you. Remember though, a house is a collection of bricks glued together to provide shelter and somewhere to live, a home is where you get that shelter with added vavavoom. Doesn't have to be a house at all. Over the years I've met people in all sorts of homes, from a double decker bus to a tiny touring caravan, but it's almost always been the house dwellers that have been the most unhappy ones.

Hope that you enjoy things living on board as much have - and still are!
We moved out in the summer of 1998 having realised we were spending so much time on the house and garden it was interfering with our sailing time.
We haven't looked back and even 'upgraded' three years ago.
To be honest, saying you are a liveaboard often gives others the impression you will be some water gypsy with a run down hulk that never goes anywhere. The truth is far removed from this as there are a large number of fine craft that people live on.
I suspect there will be a lot more people choosing this lifestyle in the coming months and years.
There are a lot of benefits which the landlubbers don't realise.
I don't think we will be headed 'ashore' again for some while.
