Are we all too keen to give our money to marinas during the pandemic?

Caravan storage for £40 a month in Yacht Haven wonder what the price is for your boat taking up the same space

consider insurance (replacing caravan is much cheaper) and the other costs differentials ( boat vs caravan) which may attribute to the price. it's not all about sq f

Quite possibly , but are not most marinas under their contracts telling us mere mortals with boats that they hold no liability to the boat in their marina or in the hard , unless you can prove serious negligence on their part, it is why my insurance that I pay covers me for my boat being lifted out and being on the hard an on their marina , and we need to prove we have minimal insurance to be in their marina in case we damage their property ,
seems a one way money drain

I'm in the same boat as Kelpie, though over a much shorter distance. I persuaded my mooring contractor to do what he does - the good news was that there was nothing needed - before the lock-down. My boat was ready to go and would have gone in on the Monday that Boris announced the lock-down except it was obvious it was coming and I asked the yard to hold off. So my boat is safe in a dry shed with a tarpaulin to keep the inevitable pigeon shit (they always find a way in) at bay. As for cost, I obviously owe the contractor for the mooring (when he gets round to invoicing) and am occupying a space in the shed that had a waiting list of willing-to-pay boats. I expect to pay and on the basis of very reasonable behaviour by the marina in the past do not foresee them trying it on.

In the limit, you need to bear in mind that you are essentially dealing with property companies, who would quite cheerfully convert as much as possible to residential. If they don't make money out of boats, the case for that is strengthened
Yes, most of these places are high-worth properties!
