I thought I was barking down at Sparkes today, polishing and waxing the topsides.
Frequent blizzard snow showers coming through - b-----y cold in the strong wind.
However others were:
busy preping last years antifoul
Being trained to turn Ribs in the wind in the marina
Out racing from HISC - loads of capsizes

Of course we are! I rubbed back the antifoul underneath my boat today, head and shoulders soaked in gungey blue water, grass in my ears, snow on my bone-cold feet, cuts on my hands from the razor-sharp prop-protector (must remember it's there next time). Brilliant time. Real therapy. Can't wait to launch again in a week or two. Really great being mad. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

F**king cold here

The fuel line going to the outboard on my dinghy froze the other night. Never seen that before. The whole lake froze overnight.
Saw two kingfishers yesterday in the habour. I wonder if they think twice about diving after fish in this weather.
Forecast is for minus ten tonight.

Just got back today from sailing Florida...I agree, it is cold here, but it did rain for about 10 minutes yesterday...

It was so cold in Gosport that i couldn't get the Sikaflex to squeeze from its container as i rebedded some deck fittings! Of course it did squirt out in the end in one big rush, which meant i got it on my hands, tools, jacket, glasses, shoes...

Well the sailing was great in North Wales... Nipped out of the Marina at 10.45, out to the end of the Orm and then tacked back up the River right up to Conway Castle.. 15 knots of wind and flat in a North Easterly. Had to wear a couple of layers but the sun was shining... Back in by 2pm..

PK.

Re: F**king cold here

Yesterday it was just beautiful in the Lake District. I blagged a ride on a shakedown run at the Steamboat Museum (it was a diesel launch actually).
Just the two of us and one yacht on the lake. beautiful sunshine, warm, not a breath of wind.
don't you just hate winter?

Re: Not all!

Here maybe we are a bit lucker. A shipyard with a aircraft hanger type shed as turned its winter business into winter boat storage. I can get my boat lifted out and under cover, with the mast up and do all those jobs in the warm (-3 today but sunny) with the doors shut. Lift out, cradle, and wash off, lift back £4.80 per foot!! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
