Just had a renewel quote from them which is lots less than my previous insurers.

Whilst this is good news are they considered OK?

Thanks

Nick

Nick,

If you do a search on 'GJW' in the past year you will find many favourable reports. Other good ones were Haven Knox Johnston and KC Powell. Don't think you qualify for Saga!

Joanne regularly informs me that I am just immature for my age which I take as a compliment....

Funny that, her telling you that you are immature. She told me that you were fast approaching puberty and had even sprouted a few hairs. She didn't say where they were sprouting... maybe you can tell us.

I had a quote from them and even with the RYA discount they were 30% dearer than Mardon's!! and Mardon's included the ski insurance which they had as an extra. Best to ensure that all that is covered is what you require, say cruising limits, excess, limit and excess to underwater gear damage e.t.c. all are different.

I have used gjw over past 15 years and always found them excellent. I made a smallish claim once and they were very decent and non-nitpicky about it, they paid up the full claim immediately

Present insurers are over £120 dearer and wont even come close to the GJW figure.

Guess where my business is heading?

Nick, have you looked at Craftinsure.Their quote was 25% less than my existing policy via a broker.Exactly the same insurance company backing the policy.

Thanks I have now tried them and they are about £20 cheaper than GJW but a £440 excess rather than £250.

Worth a try though
