A Sweep called Sooty,,,,
"how much tide can you use the sweep against?"
Not much, I tend to let the tide move me along, but I can make across the tide. At a guess I'd say not more than two knots. Fitter people will do better. It's not hard to learn to scull though I tend to row against a rudder bias to get her moving.
It's seldom used but I like to know its there: like a puncture repair kit on a motorbike. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
