I think DRB may run Kilcreggan as well now. If that's the case, it might be worth asking about going there. Much nicer location than the Gareloch yard and dead easy by public transport because the ferry pier is 100m away.

I lifted out at DRB for the winter a few years ago. The boat was stored in the yard where the large shed is, directly inland from the long jetty (can be seen clearly on google earth). This area is like a large crater and I have never been anywhere so cold. I did the anti fouling in April, and although the sun was shining and it felt quite pleasant elsewhere, the puddles in this area - of which there were many - were solid ice.
