ardiff bay/mermaid quay

Looks like a good weekend. Only problem is they are closing the short stay pay and display pontoons from midnight tonight until 6pm Monday. I believe they are offering alternate berthing in the graving dock.

Very poor show I think, a Harbour Festival needs boats at it! The Graving dock can not hold than many craft . .

Yes it is a poor show. I understand the closure relates to unauthorised recreational boats. The pontoons will be occupied by "event vessels"
We were looking forward to the weekend but only found out yesterday about pontoon closure so will be visiting on foot

I won't be going then.
The others have diverted plans too.
I don't think the HA realise that yachts attract people.

It seems that the harbour master does not want boats to moor at mermaid key. In 2007 it was a great place to come to but I think now visiting boats are not wanted. It is a shame if my view.

We all used to go (probably 6 boats with between 3 or 5 crew on each) No idea why they put us off.Don't know why we need to pay either when surely a park costs more to keep than a little pontoon.

Cardiff could easilly out do Bristol if it was planned. Great view of the bay for viewing racing and aircraft displays. Loads of bars and restaurants, huge area for French market, bands & space for other atractions................just not our yachts.
