--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

hello

finding it difficult to get any info on the following. I undrstand ARCO Solar are now part of BP Solar and the product is an old one. Anyone got any specs on the Arco Solar 330mm x 330mm approx. framed panel?
much appreciated.

thought I'd try my luck on the liveaboard section.
I have inherited the above panel but can't find any specs on it.
Anyone got any knowledge? (going purely by the surface area, I'm guessing the panel is in the 5 - 12Watt range). & by the looks of it, not the monocrystal type.

Siemens bought ARCO solar.

And then were not too happy they did.

Then Shell decided they wanted a piece of the pie.

Eventually ownership moved back to Germany again with SolarWorld.

Arco solar were one of the first big manufacturers back in the 80's. It's going to be pretty difficult to find a panel specification. I did find reference to an Arco brochure which was available in the 80's (604. Electricity from Sunlight). Sadly no brochure itself.

I wish I could help more regarding the actual panel. However, I can say that it's probably around 3-7w for that size. That is if it is old style amorphous technology, which is somewhat larger per watt than decent current amorphous panels.

Use a voltmeter/ammeter and you can pretty much find out it's current specs (it will have degraded over time by maybe 20%, if it's been in use).

hello Fekosa
happened across some new info so I'd thought I'd follow up.
Apparently rating was 5 Watts - so you were spot on.
